Born in Northern Ontario and raised on the West Coast of British Columbia, Kimiko went on to study Anthropology at Simon Fraser University, BC and at Concordia University in Montreal. She lived and worked on the Sunshine Coast of British Columbia for 17 years, and just recently moved back to Montreal to pursue her passion for art.
A self-taught artist, Kimiko has sold her work annually at the Powell Street Festival in Vancouver, BC since 2004 and was the recipient of the Patricia Logie Artist Bursary in 2005. Her art cards and stuffed creations can be found at the Gibsons Public Art Gallery and the gift shops of the Nikkei National Museum and Cultural Centre in Burnaby and the Japanese American National Museum in Los Angeles.
